MOT's

An MOT is a yearly check to make sure your vehicle is safe, roadworthy, and meets UK emissions standards. During the test, our qualified technicians inspect important parts of your vehicle like the brakes, lights, tyres, suspension, and exhaust, to ensure everything’s working as it should. It’s a simple way to keep you, your passengers, and other road users safe.

Class 4 MOT's

A Class 4 MOT is the most common type of MOT test and covers the majority of cars and smaller vehicles on the road. This includes family cars, taxis, motorhomes, and small vans weighing up to 3,000 kg gross weight. It also applies to light commercial vehicles and some 3-wheeled vehicles over 450 kg.

In short, if you drive a typical car or small van, it will almost certainly need a Class 4 MOT. The test checks all the key safety and emissions items to make sure your vehicle is safe, roadworthy, and legal to drive.

We carry out class 4 MOT's from £54.85

Class 7 MOT's

A Class 7 MOT is for larger commercial vehicles that weigh between 3,000 kg and 3,500 kg (3.5 tonnes) gross weight. This typically includes bigger vans and goods vehicles used for business purposes — for example, Ford Transit 350s, Mercedes Sprinters, Renault Masters, and other heavy-duty work vans.

The test checks the same key safety and emissions items as a standard MOT, but it’s designed for heavier vehicles that carry more weight or equipment. If your van or pickup has a higher load capacity, it will likely need a Class 7 MOT instead of the standard Class 4.

We carry out class 7 MOT's from £58.60

Our MOT Advice

We recommend a few simple check before bringing your vehicle for MOT to make sure it has the best chance of passing. Check your lights, wipers, and horn are working, top up your screenwash and make sure the screenwash jets work, and make sure your tyres have enough tread and are properly inflated (fully lock front wheels to check the inside treads). Ensure your number plates are clean and easy to read. If you notice anything amiss with your vehicle, such as knocking noises over rough roads or unusual lights on your dashboard, it's recommended to have these checked before the MOT in case they are issues that need time to be fixed.

We recommend you book your MOT on a day where you don't require the use of your vehicle. Even if you think your vehicle may pass, the MOT may pick up a small issue which may need time to fix. We can usually fix most fail items the same day. Especially basic items such as low brake pads or bad tyres. Some MOT failures may take longer to fix, so we ask for patience as these failures can often be unforeseen. In these instances we do have a courtesy car to offer, however it is on a first come, first serve basis unless pre-booked.
